The 1648 roll of New Sweden settlers at the Riksarkivet [Swedish National Archives] in Stockholm reports that Olof Thorsson served as a sailor on the 1641 voyage of the Kalmar Nyckel to New Sweden. From later records it is learned that he was accompanied by his wife Elisa [Elisabeth], sons Olof and Lars and two known daughters, Elisabeth [?] and Maria. A third daughter (Petronella) was born in New Sweden …
